Águas Azuis, Special Purpose Company (SPE) established between thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, Embraer Defesa & Segurança and Atech for the construction of the frigates Classe Tamandaré for the Brazilian Navy, is among the participants of the 16th edition of Navalshore, the biggest event of the naval construction industry of Latin America, which will be held within August 16 and 18, in the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
Águas Azuis CEO, Fernando Queiroz, will be one of the lecturers in the panel “Renewal and Expansion Programs for the Brazilian Navy’s Naval Assets”, scheduled to 16th at 4:45 pm. In the occasion, he will present a status of the Programa Fragatas Classe Tamandaré acknowledged as the most modern and innovative naval project already developed in Brazil. The frigates are being built in thyssenkrupp Estaleiro Brasil Sul, in Itajaí (SC).
“Navalshore will be a great opportunity to reinforce the importance of this program. The acquisition of the frigates integrates the efforts of the Navy to modernize its Naval Force, allowing, thus, the renewal of the Brazilian squadron. The ships are being built from a technological platform never seen in Brazil and the project predicts a strong transfer of technology, that will assure the maintenance of the fleet during all the life cycle of the vessels and will contribute for the strengthening of the national naval defense cluster”, highlights Queiroz.

The naval alliance between thyssenkrupp Marine Systems and Embraer Defesa & Segurança will also allow creating bases for products export of naval defense from Brazil.
